Lightning channel balances
Move example sats between Alice and Bob and watch the direction-dependent balance change.
This example starts with 100,000 sats shared between Alice (70,000) and Bob (30,000). A settled payment transfers value from one side to the other while total capacity stays the same.

The interactive example needs JavaScript. The explanation and worked example are available below.
Worked example
Alice sends Bob 21,000 sats: balances become 49,000 and 51,000. Bob sends 10,000 back: they become 59,000 and 41,000. A sender cannot pay more than their current example balance.
About this model
A simplified model of already-settled two-party payments. Real Lightning also involves reserves, fees, pending HTLCs and other constraints. This example omits them, allows spending the full model balance, and does not connect to a node or model routing, signatures or timelocks.
